The Modular Integrated Construction Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MiC-MAS)

The Modular Integrated Construction Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MiC-MAS or the Scheme), introduced by BTRi on 15 November 2024, is a strategic initiative to strengthen the MiC module supply chain and elevate the standards and reliability of MiC modules. The accreditation scheme is owned by the Development Bureau of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. BTRi is the accreditation body and MiCLab provides technical support to BTRi for the Scheme. Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency is the assessment body. The Scheme ensures that participating manufacturers adhere to rigorous production processes and quality benchmarks, reinforcing trust and professionalism within the industry. The initiative facilitates the use of high-quality, cost-effective building materials and aligns with both international and national standards. The Scheme plays a crucial role in driving innovation and supporting the broader adoption of MiC technology, positioning Hong Kong as a leader in advanced construction methods.
