Any legal entity engaged in the production and supply of MiC modules may apply for this Accreditation scheme to become a accreditation MiC Manufacturer.
There are two types of certificates:
a. Full Certificate
b. Provisional Certificate.Each site for MiC production defined by a physical area of a geographical location can be involved in one MiC-MAS Accreditation only.
The Applicant may apply for the certificate of more than one MiC structural type, i.e. Concrete and Steel.
Prerequisites for application of Full Certificate:
a. The Applicant shall provide evidence to support that at least one MiC project has been completed within two years before the application of each structural type.
b. There shall be MiC module production activities within 12 weeks before the application.
c. The production activities can be for a certain period rather than continuously.
d. The provision of MiC modules post-delivery activities only (e.g. maintenance and repair works) will not be considered as an acceptable MiC project or MiC module production activities.
e. In case the Applicant cannot fulfil the prerequisites for application of the Full Certificate, it may apply for the Provisional Certificate.
Prerequisites for application of Provisional Certificate:
1. Trial Batch
a. The Applicant shall produce a trial batch of at least five MiC modules within two years before the application.
b. Production of trial modules with volumetric space, finishes, fixtures and fittings, etc. for Accreditation purpose.
c. All requirements in Production and Product Quality Monitoring, applicable to the scope of Accreditation shall be fulfilled through assessment of trial batch.
2. Specific Requirements
a. The Applicant shall prepare corresponding method statements and fabrication shop drawings to produce MiC modules.
b. The method statements and fabrication shop drawings shall be reviewed and approved by MiC experienced Architect, Structural Engineer and Building Services Engineer at a consultancy company with more than three years of relevant experience.
c. The QAS shall be reviewed and approved by a Registered Architect and a Registered Professional Engineer in the structural or civil engineering discipline.
